"Welcome to the Blue Heaven Phantom Academy, Photon City Division! I am sure there are some of you here today that insist that they already know how to fly. To this I say, bullshit! You are to forget everything you think you know about flying. You will learn to fly one way, and that is our way! Every other way is inferior and will get you killed. I don't care how tough or strong you are, I will tolerate no back talk. Now, for your first lesson!"
These words were the first that Zabuza heard from his instructor. He sat in a small class room with eight other people. Right now, the instructor was busy explaining how a hyperdrive worked. Zabuza didn't really care how it worked, so long as it did. Naturally, he found it hard to concentrate. His mind began to wander, thinking of days past. He was smiling to himself, thinking of the time that he and...well, someone...had attacked a ShinRa freighter.
THUNK!
Zabuza was brought out of his reverie by a thrown eraser. It his his directly on the forehead, leaving a white mark. He shot to his feet, his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Oh, so now you're paying attention, eh? Sit your ass back down and pay attention. If you don't, I'll come back there and kick your ass!", said the instructor. Zabuza couldn't believe it. The anger boiled up in him, turning to the desire to kill. How dare this man try such a thing? His eyes narrowed as he stared at the instructor. The man was watching him with a cool contempt that set Zabuza's nerves on edge. Somehow Zabuza managed to regain control of his emotions and sat stiffly back in his seat.
"Right then. As I was saying, the standard impulse engine is quite an interesting device. You see, it...."
Zabuza's mind began to drift again. He simply wasn't one for the technical aspect of things. While he wasn't stupid, he was more of a doer than a thinker. His mind wandered back to training aboard his ship. After many weeks, he had regained his ability to control mist. He still wasn't powerful enough to do any of his more advanced jutsus, but that was a start. Perhaps he would attempt his water dragon jutsu soon...
'Man, that guy is going to get it again'
Zabuza glanced up in time to see an eraser streaking toward his head. Moving rapidly, he snagged it out of the air and sent it streaking back toward the instructor. Unflinching, the man easily caught it in his left hand.
"Seems I was wrong. You must have been paying attention after all. Anyway, your standard plasma generator can run up to four beam weapons and...", said the instructor.
Zabuza wondered what was going on. He had heard that voice in his mind. This was something that had never happened before. Could this be part of his newly acquired abilities? 'It seems I will have to practice this...', he thought to himself. Such an ability could come in handy indeed.
OOC: Enrolled in the Phantom Academy, finished Obscuring Mist some time ago, and am starting to learn telepathy. I am also learning triple weapon, but I couldn't think of a way to make a post about that...
